From the comfort of your own home you can use yoga as an all purpose body workout. While it is a good general workout, you can also use certain yoga poses to target more specific areas of your body for improvement. In this article you will learn how to do Utkatasana, which is a beginner exercise you can try at home to help sculpt those thin or chubby thighs.

To begin, you must first do, Tadasana, which is called the "mountain pose." Picture your body as a mountain and stand straight as you can. Center your hands over your chest in prayer position. Next, space your feet as close together as you can while you distribute your weight evenly. Try and rotate your thighs together so you widen your hips, then suck in your belly a bit to stretch out.

At first, Tadasana seems like you are just standing straight, but remember there is more to it. If you are having trouble feeling the difference, try standing with your back touching a wall. This should give you a feel for how your spine should align. In order to get an idea of how your thighs rotate, try squeezing an object between them and then try to rotate it. This should give you an idea of how your thighs move. If you can do this correctly, then you are ready to start Utkatasana.

When done correctly Utkatasana will make your body look like a chair. From the mountain pose, bend your knees to a squat. Try and get as close to ninety degrees as possible, but do not go too far. After you have bent your knees, raise your arms to the sky and slightly bend your torso forward.
